Image Compressor
Shrink JPEG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF files right in your browser — your image never leaves your device. PNGs get real color-quantization (transparency preserved); JPEGs and WebPs get re-encoded at your chosen quality.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser — your image never leaves your device, and nothing is uploaded.
Which image formats can I compress?
You can compress PNG, JPEG, WebP, and AVIF files up to 25 MB, and optionally convert between these formats on output.
How does PNG compression work without losing transparency?
PNG inputs are color-quantized via UPNG.js, which reduces the number of colors to shrink the file while preserving transparency. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded at your chosen quality level instead.
Can I resize the image while compressing?
Yes. Use the Max width/height slider to cap the longest side at a set number of pixels, which reduces file size further before the image is encoded.
