About error correction

Each QR code reserves part of its capacity for error correction so a damaged or partially obscured code can still scan. Higher levels = more recoverable but a denser, bigger code for the same string.

  • L recovers up to 7% damage — use only for small, clean digital codes.
  • M (15%) is the standard for most printed material.
  • Q (25%) for industrial/outdoor use.
  • H (30%) if you'll place a logo over the centre (your logo replaces the data the QR can recover).
Frequently asked questions

What can I turn into a QR code?

Any text or URL works — paste a link, plain text, or any string into the input and the QR code updates live. You can also customise the dot style, foreground and background colours, and apply a linear or radial gradient fill.

Can I download the QR code?

Yes. Download it as a PNG or a scalable SVG, or copy the SVG markup directly. SVG is ideal for print and large signage because it stays sharp at any size.

Which error correction level should I pick?

L (7%) suits small clean digital codes, M (15%) is the standard for most printed material, Q (25%) is for industrial or outdoor use, and H (30%) is best if you place a logo over the centre. Higher levels recover more damage but make the code denser.

Is my content uploaded to a server?

No. QR codes are generated locally in your browser, so the text or URL you encode stays on the page and is never sent anywhere.
