Social Media

Four tools for the limits that silently truncate you. Count a post against every platform's cap at once, check whether an Instagram bio fits, build a hashtag set, and see how a link will look when someone shares it.

Every platform counts differently

Character limits sound simple until you discover that platforms disagree about what a character is. Emoji built from multiple code points can count as one character or several, links are often replaced by a fixed-length shortened form regardless of the real URL, and line breaks sometimes count and sometimes do not. Social Media Character Counter shows your text against several platform caps at once so you can write one post and see immediately where it will be cut, rather than pasting it into four apps to find out.

Bios and link previews

Instagram Bio Checker counts toward the 150-character cap and shows how much room is left, including line breaks, which people routinely forget are counted. OG Image / Link Preview Tester renders the card the way a messaging app or social platform will build it from your Open Graph tags, which is how you catch a missing image or a description that gets cut mid-sentence before you publish rather than after somebody shares it.

Do links count as their full length?

Usually not. Several platforms replace any URL with a fixed-length shortened form, so a very long link costs the same as a short one. The counter accounts for that rather than counting the raw characters you typed.

How long can an Instagram bio be?

150 characters, and line breaks count toward that total. The checker shows the running count and the remaining room so you can see the effect of adding a break before you commit to it.

Why does my link preview look wrong?

Almost always a missing or wrongly sized Open Graph image, or a description that is too long for the card. The preview tester renders the card from your tags so you can see what the platform will build before anyone shares the page.
